All the 3/4" wrenches in the world won't take that bolt out, it's 15/16".

Motor oil will attract dirt and grime. I would use dry graphite. But, I agree, I don't leave mine on either.

I don't always leave it in either, but when it's in I use Fluid Film. I spray it in all my locks.

Best lubricant ever. It is also solvent free so safe around rubber and electrical.

I put that $#!T on everything!

I don't leave mine on. Even then, I put a little Red n Tacky grease in the receiver every few months and my hitch lock gets sprayed with Triflow periodically.

I never leave mine in and if I do I have a regular padlock for it. I have seen cracks in the tube from the vibration of being left in the hitch. Check your state regulations too. Some stats it illegal to leave them in if you don't have a trailer hooked up.

Simple is best. A high quality nut and bolt is good but I went to the local farm supply company (TSC) and they had a huge variety of quality hitch pins and a great selection of quality pad locks.

Leaving your hitch on is a real no-no in some places and I myself would never do it.....people can get really get hurt by those things so remove when not in use.

Tripping and falling because of a trailer hitch = pain and suffering and pain and suffering = lawsuit especially if its an 80 year old granny who just broke her hip in the grocery store parking lot.
