I just drove that exact road traveling from NC to MO pulling a Volkswagen Jetta. I used tow haul mode in the mountains. It was great for engine braking on some on those really steep hills. I suggest using it. However, I don't use it on flat roads. I feel like it shifts a little too aggressively.
