Default too soft with trailer

I have a 2012 3.5 eco lariat while I tow our 21' boat it bounces too much and the ride feels spongey. It never did this with old truck so I'm thinking maybe helper springs. Any input will help my decision. Thanks.

I currently use timbrens and previously used Supersprings. Both are wonderful products that need adjusting or worries. If you get helper springs let me know what type.

Looking into hellwig 61902. Trying to get all the info I can, they are adjusted once then you are done plus quiet, even if you have no load. Also not any harsher than stock.

I put airbags on my 2010 F-150 Lariat. This allowed me to adjust on the go based on payload and road conditions.

I'm going to ad Roadmaster Active Suspension to my truck for additional sway control and to stiffen the suspension with a load. The stock springs seem to be light to compensate for the lighter truck. Although I'm OK with the stock suspension, the addition of the RAS system can't hurt.

I had/have the same problem with my 22ft boat. I'm pretty sure it's a tongue weight issue, too light for me. I added airlift airbags and that certainly firmed up the ride, but in my opinion by limiting the suspension travel it was too stiff for me.

I still have the bags installed and use the occasionally but I personally just added 250lbs of lead weight ballast bags to the nose of my boat and it tows much smoother now. The lead weight I originally added to the boat to get a better wake/wave while on the water and the smoother towing was just a benefit.

The weird thing is last year I had a 2007 sport trac 4.6l it towed fine, nothing has changed on boat. The 2012 supercab lariat is the only thing different, while towing I have to look to make sure boat is there, can tell after a couple of bumps, that's when the looseness shows up and drives me crazy ( short trip). Tongue weight same but I'm thinking the sport trac wasn't flat with trailer, maybe trailer nose was up about 1 to 2", would that stop the teeter tauter effect? The new truck is almost flat with trailer, nose down about 1".
