ive seen a few threads in the 15'+ section about 15/16' 5.0's with 3.31's with your problem.

best of luck with this!
I'll try towing with it before I tune it. So far my doors actually shut without bouncing back. The wind noise, while worse than my 2010, is now the best it's ever been.

Default Vibration while towing

Did a search but nothing came up. 2015 sc 2.7 3:55. 14' trailer Suzuki Samurai. All in weight is maybe 4500 lbs. When towing ther is a very noticeable vibration. Does this at all speeds. Not towing it is smooth. Ideas? Thanks

Trailer tires bad, out of balance? Trailer axle bent and tires therefore misaligned?

Well, at first I thought it was the trailer, but then I put it on the rental flex with 3.16 gears and the de-tuned 3.5EB (matches the 5.0 more than the 3.5EB in the f150) and I could drag that trailer in 6th gear with power to spare. Here's a pic of what our trailer looks like, and it's all steel. The flex was getting 14 mpg pulling it empty, while my truck got ~8. You'd think it was the trailer hanging up, but our 2001 4.6L pulls it just fine as well.

I'm currently traveling for work, so haven't had a chance to tow with it, but I don't have a lot of confidence those updates really did anything, but we'll see. with a 3.31 I have no problem with it running in 4th to get up small hills, but I should be able to run 5th gear with no problems.

I had two Flex. Loved them, both had EB. The first one I traded in for a 2012 F150 and regretted it a couple days later. The second one was my Darth Vagon. It was solid Tuxedo Black and a beast. It handled all my planes for going to the RC field, and was comfortable to drive and I had planned to keep it a long time, until it got totaled in a whiteout. I could not find a replacement in time in order to recoup the taxes, and got an MKT instead, BIG mistake! Now that I have my 14 F150 with the topper, in Tuxedo Black, no regrets not getting another Flex, but I do miss having it. One of the best CUV's on the road!

It was an awesome rig, and I honestly could not tell that trailer was back there; unlike my truck, which felt like it was dragging an ship anchor.

I towed my RC trailer with the MKT, I bought it to match the MKT, and it pulled it OK, but no where as well as the F150. I did however pull my 3500# empty weight horse trailer with the Flex when I had it and it actually pulled it quite nicely. You knew it was back there though, horse trailers are by no means light weight! If I could afford one, I would buy another Flex as a third vehicle before Ford decides to stop producing them.

I don't get why Ford doesn't advertise them, they are roomy, powerful, very comfortable, easy driving, and versatile. Everyone I talked to who has one loves them.

We have an MKT as well, we pull the boat with it sometimes and it does pretty well, but nonwhere near what the F150 does. The eco drivetrain on the MKT is strong and pretty solid, but too many issue with all the other gadgets. If it was not still under a 140k ESP it would be gone. Love driving it, just hate sharing it with the service dept so much. Have to say it doesnt drive as nice as my parents flex though, I think the 20in wheels affect the ride.

Those are reasons I got rid of mine too. The leather on the drivers seat was worn in under 16K miles, the rear seat backs snapped in half, and it lacked cubbies that are all over in the Flex. It also did not handle as well as the Flex, which is surprising considering its the same platform. The Electronic suspension may have had something to do with that. It was also a bit cramped up front compared to the Flex. Mine had the flow through console with the refer, and that took up too much room in the second row and things I would normally carry in the Flex I couldn't in the MKT.

Now if I did find a replacement Flex after wrecking Darth Vagon, I wouldn't be here in the F150 forum again, as I would be enjoying it instead of my F150. Thats how much I like them.
