Tell me I can
I am thinking of buying a travel trailer that is 5 tons dry & empty, and a base V6 to tow it with. I figure the V6 has about 300 horsepower so that is surely sufficient to tow this trailer, right??? Heck, Pickuptrucks.com did it with a base V6 Ram. Add some helper springs and a set of glasspacks and I'm good!

0.9% is for suckers!
piece of cake. Change your headlight fluid when you stop for more fuel, keep it topped off. Carburetor bushings go bad with long hauls, so keep an eye on your cephalopod actuator too.

Tow capacity has alot more top do with then just horsepower.
some of these are:
wheel size
tire type
springs
gear ratio
transmission cooler
2wd or 4wd
truck style (scab,screw,rc)
Without knowing all the above, it is safe to assume you will damage your truck in one way or another if you tack on that type of load.
