Default sway control

I just got a 2013 4WD screw with eco boost. I pull a haulmark 7x14 tandem axle cargo trailer occassionally with it and with my 98 F150 i
I used the friction sway controller. With the new truck it has electronic sway control built in with the towing package. My question is do I need to use the friction sway control bar also?

The sway control in the truck works ok, but if your trailer is prone to sway, the truck is not going to stop it. The real way to control sway is to setup the trailer properly. Tow it tongue level or slightly down, and get at least 60% of the weight in front of the trailer axle (Tongue weight should be 10-15%, but should not exceed 20%).

The truck's sway control is really for emergency situations when sway is already getting out of control. You do not want to be there . So set up your WDH to handle the sway under normal towing conditions.
