Default SCT Tuner 😛

Just got my SCT X4 tuner installed, pre tuned file for 91 octane is bad @&$! Very impressed, anyone with questions about it cause it's costs $400.00 for the tuner with 3 pre installed tunes. Bout 100.00-150.00 for custom tunes to be made for yah and uploaded. Pretty sweet though 😆

Only the SCT 87 octane tune is approved for heavy towing. And, per the F-150 manual, use premium gas for towing.

I've been using 91 octane pulling the ice castle that's about 6800-7000 Lbs, no problem at. The SCT has an x3 and x4 tuners, I have the x4 and that 91 octane tune is approved for towing and performance. The 87 is for gas saving. Then there's 93 though I've never seen at a gas station?

Approved by SCT...? Ford ? Ford approves using Tunes ?
I bought a 89 Tow tune from them
We have 87/89 & 93 octane gas here

Yes. ..I talked to sct last week.
I wanna say they told me 93 Oct is 85 hp.

The guy said I could tow with 93.

(next)
The SCT techs you talk to on the phone say you can tow with all, but Franchi talked to a senior tech who says only the 87 is rated to Max of truck.

Ford only approves the tunes they supply. And you found my old post about the conflict of which canned SCT tunes for towing. It seems to depend on who you talk to at SCT. And the X3 and X4 come with the same tunes as far as I know.<br />
What I don't know is how you buy custom tunes from SCT. They don't seem to promote that very well.
