Rough downshifting While towing
Hi,
I've a 2011 F-150 Ecoboost with a tow package.
Tow rating is 9800lbs.
I've a trailer whos GVWR is 7400lbs.
I'm noticing an audible/phyiscal Clunk while in Tow/Haul mode going down hills and the transmission is downshifting from,
6 - 5 or
6 - 4 or
5 -4.
this doesn't seem right to me.
Any feedback would be helful.
thanks
dave

Mine will occasionally do the same thing down shifting to 4th gear when descending a hill in Tow/Haul or Cruise Control. It can be quite a jerk when towing 7500#.
Seems to be worse after a long period of non-towing, so I've always chalked it up to the tranny re-learning to tow ... if there's a fix, would like to know about it.
