Regular cab camper towing?

Regular cab camper towing?
Looking at a '14 STX Reg Cab with 5.0. It has tow package. It's just my wife and I and we'd like to start camping. Probably get around a 20'-24' lightweight camper. I don't see hardly anyone using this truck. Should I get extended cab instead?
Thanks,
Randy

If a regular cab is what you like then get it. Generally speaking a longer wheelbase will be more stable when towing but seeing as you only plan on 20-24 feet I think you will be just fine.
If the truck your looking at is an 8' bed it will be close to the same WB as a ext cab with the 6.5' bed.
One other thing to consider is re-sale. I would think a larger cab would be an easier sale if you ever wanted to unload it. Also the extra inside space is nice just incase you need to transport more than 2-3 people.
Be sure to use a Weight distributing hitch and have it set-up properly. This will make your towing experience much better.
Good luck

depends on your personal preference. it will tow that size camper just fine it's just if you want to have more than you and your wife go or want a little more leg room in the truck for the long hauls.
