I am towing a 37' 8500-9000 lbs travel trailer with a 2010 f150 lariat(5.4) crew cab long box. I have also installed Firestone riderite airbags to assist the rear suspension, and I will replace my tires soon with LT tires. I went across the scale on the way home from picking it up (empty weight 7868) after filling the and I was 50 lbs over on my rear axle. I know I am probably a little more than 50 lbs over with it loaded, but I am very comfortable putting my family in the truck. With the Equilizer WD hitch it tows very well. Power is not an issue around MN, but it would be underpowered in the hills. Braking is not an issue, can hardly tell it is behind me with the trailer brake gain set to 8.5. I am sure you would have no problems towing in that range with a newer Platinum.
Happy Camping
