IDK looking at the pics of TriToon boats they are like a fancy party barge with numerous MPG stealing seats, rails and overall design made for comfort and not for speed. Somebody with pontoon boat towing experience will be far better qualified about towing them than I am.

I looked at the pics of those and I kind of want one now... or a jet deck boat. just can't get over the B.O.A.T. thing... Bust Out Another Thousand... it was 3 bill to fill up my dad's seadoo islandia plus $100 to fill the 2 cycle oil and it gets 1.9 mpg.

Also some side info about the truck. It has a leveling kit and 285/75/18 falcon wildpeak A/T tires with chip intake and a muffler replaced.

In regards to the boat the tritoon is awesome. Very sturdy and with the 150 motor I can do about 40-45 mph. They also make a tritoon with two 300 hp motor s which will be the next boat purchase

this could point to the issue... first with do you have a custom tune to handle the new intake? if not you could be lean and if i understand it correctly (which i very well may not) if you have more air coming in than the o2's and computer will let your fuel trims correct to then the motor is not running efficiently

also with tires that are just shy of 35"'s tall, if you didn't correct the speedo, your speedo is showing a lower speed than you're going and therefore your odometer is showing less miles than your actually driving. for every 65 miles you went, you actually went 72.9 miles (if you had 255/70/17 from the factory)... if you get about 300ish miles to a tank (without the speedo calibrated) then that's actually 367.71 miles and obviously bigger heavier and wider tires than stock are going to increase rolling resistance which will hurt mileage

The tuner is a SCT tuner with 5 star tunes. And i did change my tire size on the tuner to match my new tire size. Really I just want to know if this is normal for the truck to struggle towing something thing like this. Because if it is the truck is going bye bye and I will just go get s diesel which I know will have no issue towing the boat. I know it'd hard to answer ad no one is towing the exact same thing with the exact same mods.

with the sct, I guess the only difference should be your effective gear ratio (which is like a 3.31 with upping the tire size and 3.73 gears) but even that shouldn't be much of a difference with that 6 speed trans. I know people have commented how big that boat is frontage wise but i still think it's got to be less than a travel trailer and people with 7500 pd travel trailers are getting more than 3 mpg better than you with similar configurations.

So I solved my towing issue. I ditched the F-150 for a Ram 2500 with a cummins. Solved that problem.

well I just posted this in another thread, I have a 2013 ecoboost with 3.55 and tow a 2575 Bennington I/O with 350 Merc Mag and I get a whopping 6 mpg going 65 mph. No I am not really impressed. It seems to have plenty of power, but the truck very rarely sees 6th gear when towing. Usually 4th or 5th. I'm not sure how some of you are getting 10-12 mpg towing big loads. I would be thrilled with 10!!! Even if I slow down to 60 I only get about 6.5. On one 200 mile trip with the boat on flat ground I tucked in behind a big rig doing 62 mph and managed to get about 7.

Been thinking about a tuner but really dont think it would help.

Forgot to mention the boat, trailer, gear, tips the scales at about 7,200 lbs

I had the same issue with towing. I towed a Harris Float Boat 220 Cruser with a 225 Merc. On the highway my truck was in 4th gear most of the time. I was getting about 7mpg. If i stayed off the highway I could get about 8 maybe 9. Thats why i ditched the f150 and got a 2500 Cummins. Much better now. Truck cruses in 6th gear like its not even towing a boat and I get about 14-16 towing the boat on the highway at 75-80. Hope you find a solution. Tuner did not help me out much but maybe you will have better luck. Only other thing I would say to try is a wind deflector. Maybe that would displace the air enough around the boat.
