Default Putting the EcoBoost/F150 to the test

I don't know how much this weighed but it was at the Max Tow rating for sure... maybe more. I had 3 yards of wet black dirt and 25 rolls of sod. I figured the trailer was at least 3000lbs empty as its a 14000lbs rated dump trailer, and three wet yards of dirt was probably 2500-3000lbs, so Its right at the 11200lbs the truck is rated. The truck handled it with no issues. I never thought I would use the rear locking differential but I had too here and with out it I would have not made it climbing the hill in back yard.

I have Firestone RideRite bags in the back to keep the truck level and those helped big time.

Each time I put this truck to its max capabilities it always impresses me. Being a Chevy/GM guy before and having lots of issues with me last truck I cannot complain about performance with this F150. I bought the truck to tow and it definitely can tow!

Happy Tuesday!

I came from a Titan, I too am thrilled with the trucks towing capabilities.....especially when heavily loaded. From a dead stop and go that low end torque just puts a grin on your face while your getting up to speed, because your not the tow vehicle that is screaming along holding up traffic!

That's not putting the truck to the test. Try putting those 3 CU of soil in the bed, then you'd really be testing it out

It won't like it, I'll tell you that! I hauled 1 CU of landscaping rock in my F150 (sticker payload ~1500 lbs) a few weeks ago, and it was feeling the weight, that is for sure. Glad I only had to drive about a mile.

They easily pull a hell of a lot more rhan the stupid manual tells you.
Braking and handling while towing a heavy trailer are SIGNIFICANTLY better than the 1 ton trucks of years gone by as well.
I would much rather tow 15000 pounds with my new half ton, than some old 1 ton.
Want to be scared tow a heavy load with a 1 ton truck from sqy the 60s or 70s......spooky.
They barely stop or corner even when not towing a thing...
