Pulling a fifth wheel, yah or nah??

They just extended the pin box further and used the Max Turn design. We can get the same effect with the Reese Sidewinder/Revolution pin box without the extra extension. But it shows that the short bed trucks are now getting serious consideration as fifth wheel haulers.

SkiSmuggs I had a 5.5' box for 4 years in my 08 and wouldn't touch one with a 10' pole now. I absolutely LOVE my 6.5'. That extra ft of cargo space makes all the difference in the world for me. Then again the bed of my truck is never empty. Heck I didn't even drive my 12 off the lot before I had it half full.

11,000 miles of pulling a 9500 lb fiver with my short bed F150 Ecoboost, 43K on the truck, still using P-rated tires, been through the mountains of VT, NH, CO and WY without killing myself, my family or your family or even wishing I had a bigger truck.

I managed to get a pin weight of 1800 lb on my "1/2 ton" towable and a rear axle weight of 4800 lb which is right at the rating on my HD payload truck. Even if I kept the pin at the original 1400, I'd still be at 4400, over the standard rear axle rating. The weight of a HD payload crew 6.5' is the same as a standard version so that will not help.
