We have an Autumn Ridge 289BHS which is made by starcraft. Great trailer, I know there are a few more users here with the same one. It has the features that you are looking for, double over double, u-dinette, sofa and full size 80" queen bed. It might save a little in the weight department depending on the options. Mine is 6800lbs dry as per the sticker, but it does have quite a few bells and whistles on it.

That looks like a very nice model! Where do you see the 80" bed? 74" is on the diagram you posted. It does not appear to have a crowned interior roof does it? Also what are you pulling it with and how does it tow?

Starcraft uses what they call x-tend a bed, where there is a 6" piece that goes at the top for taller people to make the bed 80", it sits under your pillow so you never notice it. You are right, the interior is not crowned, but the interior height is 81" so that leaves me with 4" to spare.

I am towing with a 2010 F-150 with the 5.4L, I think it tows great, I have a Blue Ox WDH, and I have had no problems. I bought it at the beginning of this season, and I have logged about 4500km on it and we love it. It had the layout we wanted, mainly the u-dinette and the second entrance to the bathroom, and it was within our budget.

...
At night, we pull out our 74" mattress about 4-5" and stuff the gap with pillows. Then push it back and make the bed in the morning. It does hang over the edge by 4-5" when pulled out, so you probably shouldn't sit there. But it's a practically solution for us taller folk. Works for my 6'1".

Or just pull out the crappy RV mattress and put in a regular size queen, that is what we did...you don't need dancing room in there, you need nice comfy sleeping room!

We have a 2nd kid on the way so our guest room will be no longer. I am so incredibly excited to move that queen bed into our TT!

Yep, this is the third time we've done that. 1996 Wonderer 5er, 2001 Keystone 5er, and our current 2012 Nomad TT. In all three we replaced the cheap stock 60"x74" mattress with a normal size 60"x 80" EuroTop mattress.

The main reason was to get a higher-quality mattress without paying the two or three prices from Camping World or other sources of quality custom-size mattresses. Another reason is so Darling Wife could buy the mattress covers, sheets, and other linens for standard size queen-size mattress instead of that 60x74 RV size. Have you tried to buy a high-quality percale fitted bottom sheet for a 60x74 mattress at JCPenny or Kohl's?

The main problem in the 5ers was forcing the stiff mattress up the stairs and into the bedroom. Major project for an old man. The TT was easier, but it still required some grunting and shoving to get the stiff new mattress in the door and around the corner into the bedroom. And after it's in there, it doesn't leave much walking-around room in the bedroom. But we love that Serta EuroTop mattress after a long day camping or driving.

Sam's Club has excellent prices on the better queen-size mattresses. About half the price of a good sleep shop. This one is similar to the one we put in the TT:

Thanks for all the help with the mattress suggestions! With reading on the new payload numbers, does anyone think it could now be possible for me to pull this trailer comfortably with a new 2015 without the HD Payload package?

Assuming it is a base XLT SuperCrew with not many options?

6819 dry, with tongue weight of 830.

Wife and two small kids in the truck.

According to the Build and Price the 2015 f150 has a payload of up to 2650lbs and 10700lbs towing with the 3.5ecoboost 4x4 6.5bed and hd payload

For the 5.5bed no HD payload your looking at 2020lbs same tow.

*numbers are when properly equipped hope this helps!
