Yes Smoky, but he does not have as far as I can tell a 200 lb shell or heavy bed rug installed. He can also carry tools in the trailer etc. He could easily carefully load and adjust things out and get safely to 6500 to 7k. Not all of us have a cap, and rugs etc installed and if tool loads an wood etc are an issue they can be moved to the trailer where their full impact is not on the truck.

Either way, I started looking at trailer options and looks like I could get a decent sized trailer for under 5,000#. I do live in a mountain town with higher elevation and steep grade highway up the mountain. I prefer to have some breathing room than to take it to its limits and struggle getting up the mountain. Thanks everyone for your input! This has been very helpful.
