I've had excellent results with Michelin tires. Every time I buy a different brand, I'm disappointed. So I would pay a bit extra and stick with Michelin LTX.

Michelin LTX in size 275/65R18 is available in either P-Series with close to load range C, or LT in load range E. And with your choice of tread pattern including A/T2, M/S2, Defender M/S, and good ole A/S, as well as "winter" and highway treads. P-Series has all the weight capacity you need for towing heavy, but some folks prefer to pay extra for the heavier LT series that ride stiffer and have less MPG.

Consumer Reports says the M/S2 is the best all-around tread, but down here in the desert I prefer A/S. None of them are off-road "beefy", and won't sing to you when cruising at highway speeds. Not even the all-terrain A/T2 tread. Beefy knobby tires are not good for tread life or MPG, so back off of that image nonsense and choose the tread design for performance. Here is a link to the various Michelin LTX tires in your size. Click on the "Consumer Recommended" button to see performance stats for each tread pattern.

Look at the Wikipedia listing for "list of tire companies." Michelin owns B. F. Goodrich and Uniroyal. I buy Goodyear as they are USA based, and they own Dunlop and Kelly-Springfield brands.

I happy with the BF Goodrich Rugged Terrain that came OEM on the Heavy duty payload package trucks. They are M/S 10 ply E rated tires. They lasted for a long time and the traction for wet/dry/snow was and is good.
