Default Missing Brake controller plug

Hi all, I am new here, just went out to attach my Prodigy P2 brake controller to the new 2013 4x4 supercrew with trailer towing package. My old 2008 had a different plug, I just spliced the new pigtail to the Prodigy pigtail, and put the relays in .... going great. then when I looked under the dash I couldn't find the female end of the wiring harness anywhere, there is a blank connector, (no wires) taped to the harness under the steering wheel (the same end as the pigtail that's in the glovebox to attach to the Prodigy), that's it, nothing else to be found in plain sight. Help, thanks.

the plug in the glovebox is for the backup camera, if you take the tailgate off, it a cap for the connection..
as for the tbc.. some have found the plug on the rear of the cubbie hole box where the tbc is to go.. or under there in the area..

Just want to say that Ford's built-in controller is waaay better than the P2.
It gets its brake signal directly from the truck not indirectly through an inertial sensor. It adjusts for truck speed and any ABS action. It will also activate the trailer's brakes if it detects sway (using the truck's roll-over sensors I think).

You can buy from Ford, install it yourself if you want, and get Ford to flash the computer so it's detected.

All taken care of and working, yes it was behind the junk-box, the dash panel came off much easier than I thought, 45 mins.. including the test drive and moving the other vehicles around the driveway.

Brulaz, thought of getting the OEM but I have the P2 and I only tow the small.. 18' Jayco a few times a year, the big trailer 30' Jayco Eagle is set up permanently on a site at the lake, thought it would be a bit over-kill, the P2 has served me well and I can take it out when one of the kids use the small trailer.

Sounds good. I had a P2 for many years before the F150. Very reliable. But now I'm spoiled and will never go back.

Steve, don't sweat the P2. I re-used mine from my Envoy, and just spliced the P2 harness into the Ford one. Too cheap to buy the plug 'n play one.

Just bought a 2013 STX.. also found an empty connector (no wires) taped to a cable under the dash near the steering wheel.. Can you guys explain ( a little clearer ) where the plug for the brake controller might be hiding. I called FORD.. the customer service people don't have a clue.
