Hah I almost bought a quad last month and even though I have a 6'5 box I was 100% buying a trailer to carry it.

I watch my friend destroy his rear window on his truck with his.

Everyone each their own, I just seen enough to convince me that trailering these things is the best option.

If I set it at the top peg on the angle. I am able the lift a 650lbs Yamaha V-Max into the bed. Not to easy, but doable with one person. This is the manual crank version. They also have the power winch. Disassembled it's only 3 piece.

I dont get what is so challenging about riding a quad up ramps?? I've done it a bunch of times, never once had an issue or the "oh siht" thought. Strap the ramps tight, and put it in 4x4. If you have rode a quad before(and since you own one, I assume you have) it will walk right up the ramps. Keep your hand/foot on the break and when you get into the truck bed let off the throttle. Clearly this isn't common sense after watching these videos on youtube lol

You're right and I'm likely being over cautious in reading about and watching what some idiots have done.

I have a 8X8 snowmobile trailer that tilts. I drive my 450R onto it (which doesn't like speeds below 40); I have to drive like Evil Knievel to load the thing...lol

I built a wooden bench type of thing so that the front wheels of the ATV hit the bench before the winch hits the window. Works great and you can hit it at any speed. I also bored a hole in an 8x16 piece of quarter inch plate and centre mounted it between the box and the cab using a large stainless steel eye bolt which sticks into the box. Works great for winching or securing and I have never bent that sucker. Feel free to use a larger piece of plate or a larger eye bolt.

I still drive the ATV up but I found that the ramp tried to kick up at the top and not out at the bottom. For this I fastened a piece of 2x3 wood on the bottom of the ramp so that it hits the lip of the tail gate. I also use 2 pull tight straps that I fasten to the ramp about 3/4 way up and than I fasten the other end to the 2 large chain couplers that I use for attaching trailer chains. I have never had an issue.

Those tie-downs are only good for 75lbs???

I use 'em to strap down my 250lb snow thrower, never had 'em bend or break.
