On my previous vehicle I replaced the side mirror glass with ones that were slightly blue-tinted. This really helped with the glare. Haven't looked for blue tints on the F150 though as I rarely drive at night with it.

And my guess on the relay would be that it simply controls the power going to the trailer. Key turned on, power to the trailer. Key turned off, power to the trailer is disconnected.

You are corect about the purpose of the relay. keep in mind that the relay is not even installed a when the truck leaves the factery it and the fuse are in a little plastic bag in the gove box or tossed in the door panel also the 30amp fuse is still in the cirquit to protect it even when the relay is jumped. As for the mirror I dont know of a work around other than a tint.

I'm a nerd at heart, but with a love for all things auto, and women. That said, I am going to add LEDs to all parts of the truck. One area I think I am going to do now is add a small led "blue" in color that will be placed in the space between the overhead storage and the mirror. It will shine just towards the mirror. The angle should be steep enough to keep any glare out of my face. When and if I do it I might try to do a build thread. But I will also do some mock ups to make sure I'm not wasting my time.

Sorry everyone looks like I hijacked my own thread. I will be trying to do the relay sometime this weekend. I'm traveling to Florida today to do an art show in Ocala so if I can get a break with the trailer still attracted I'm going to give it a try. Thanks for all the help everyone and especially bubbabud. I haven't even looked yet to see exactly where in front it is located. If its not to dark tonight when I get to Ocala i will look.
