Does my trailer remind you of any other trailer you've seen? It's a Northwood Fox Creek 187FL made in Oregon with basically the same floor plan. Love the floor plan. The new model is called an 18L. It is a 4 season trailer built as good as anything I've seen in 45 years! I just bought one six months ago and haven't used it do to poor health, but I'm getting ready for a trip in late October. I put a 17" 12 volt flat screen with built in DVD player in it, and bought a Honda 3000 generator and a new 2012 Ecoboost screw so look out Midwest farm country and the South.... I'm coming!
I had a Jayco fifth wheel a few years back that I had a repair done at the factory in Indiana. Jayco treated me very well and I enjoyed visiting Amish Shipshewana (Shipsy), Indiana which is next to the factory! Good times!

Now having all kinds of trouble with my 2010 F150 so I'm also getting a new 2012. Since having all kinds of trouble with the 2010, I'm a bit fearful of going with the Ecoboost with all the troubles sited. So I'm sticking with a 5.0L. We did a dealer search and of course, there's no HD Packages left anywhere within our range that have the options I need.
So the truck I'm getting is a 2012 Flame Blue Screw 5.5' bed 4WD 5.0L w/3.73 locking axle (9300 lbs tow rating), with Convenience, Chrome, Tow, Plus packages and Sirius radio and the trailer brake controller. While having the same axles as my 2010, and even a 2012 Ecoboost with their 7200 GVWR, the 5.0Ls have a GVWR of 7350 lbs. None of Ford Specs make any sense. A SuperCab 2WD is only 420 lbs lighter than a SuperCrew 4WD but with a 3.55 axle has 1800 lbs more towing capacity. Makes no sense.
Sorry I haven't post recently, many things have been going on and my recent posts here were to help with my decision on the new truck.
Even though the 5.0L doesn't have the low end torque that my 5.4L has, the newer shift strategy on the 2012 (over the 2011 I initially test drove), gets the rpms up to stay in the 5.0's loftier torque range by downshift faster and easier, and holding gears longer. The Ecoboost has a different shift strategy as it felt just like my 5.4L and the earlier 2011 5.0L by not downshifting as easily and upshifting quicker.
I've already decided on a the new tonneau cover and bedliner but still having difficulty deciding to go with the Factory tow mirrors or adding aftermarket slide over custom mirrors to the standard factory mirrors. I hate to just get rid of the standard mirrors as they are actually more costly than the tow mirrors and offer dimming on the drivers side. I also will lose the bumper to bumper warranty and only have a 1 year Ford Accessory warranty on the OEM Tow Mirrors. Not a big deal but I had problems with one vibrating out and was a bit of a trouble getting warranty to cover the one.

I see a lot of people using the **** Custom tow mirrors here. I already had a thread on the matter BUT is the vibration these mirrors induce bad enough to blur images or is it minor enough that images stay clear? Also has anyone marred or scratched their mirror housing from these mirrors. I like these mirrors the best.
