Great thread, I am learning quite a bit from it.
I am new to towing and recently picked up an F150 with the intent of purchasing a fairly large Toy Hauler (not sure which yet) next.
I toyed with the idea of getting a Superduty to pull it, but thought that was overkill since I’d only be trailering a hand full of times per year and needed the daily drivability of the ½ ton.
After reading through some threads, I’m not so sure I made the right decision as a ¾ ton would have opened me up to a bigger variety of large Toy Haulers.
That being said, I did get the best towing package available to the F150 range.
Here’s the stats:
2012 Platinum EB SCREW w/ 3.73 and the Max Tow package (including mirrors, trailer braking, tranny cooler, etc. ). This evidently puts me at 1,900 lbs payload and 11,200 lbs towing capacity.
I did some light trailering this weekend, maybe 2.5k (with no trailer braking) and the braking ability was certainly impacted (need to look into that).
Would be interested in hearing any recommendations for a large Toy Hauler (make\model) that I can pull “safely” with my truck. Would like to see pictures even more.
I found this thread but there was not much to it.

Is that 1900lbs from the yellow door sticker? Look on the drivers side door and you'll see a yellow sticker showing max cargo. Really doubt you have 1900lbs of payload with a Platinum. Do you have the 5.5 or 6.5 bed? Ignor the 11,200 tow rating, you'll need to watch the payload. Figure out what you will be taking in your truck and subtract all that from the cargo rating found on your yellow door sticker. Now minus another 100lbs for the WD hitch you'll need. That will give the amount you have left for the TH tongue weight. Now you can start looking for a TH that will have the appropriate tongue weight. Just remember the brochure weights are only an estimate and you will need to add to those. Figure adding another 150+lbs for dry tongue weight, since they don't allow for batteries or propane. They will include the tanks but not the propane. You will never be able to tow 11,200 with your truck. I have a 11,100 max tow rating, but when all weights are figured in I can only tow a 7200lb loaded weight TT. I have 1857lbs of cargo rating. But it's eatin up with a canopy, bikes, gen, lawn chairs, etc. That leaves me with about 1400lbs, now minus me and my wife and whatever else and with the TT's 850-900lb tongue weight we are right at the max on rear axle, 4050lbs. Lots of things to account for, take your time and run some numbers. Don't do like some guys and just run out and buy a cool looking TH then realize you can't tow it.Don't listen to the RV salesmen either, they will tell you you can tow anything if you tell them you have a 11,200 tow rating. For the most part you won't be able to buy a large TH, simply because your truck won't have enough payload capacity. It's the big downer for 1/2 ton trucks. Had you bought the F150 with the HeavyDuty payload rating (8200lb GVW) you'ed be in better shape. The F250 would've been the best choice, but mpg would suck. Good luck.

That being said, it all depends of what he's planning on putting in that TH... He could be fine. It is hard to justify a 3/4 for 4 - 5 times pulling a year IMO

you CAN tow much more than the actual tow rating, its just not legal or good for your drivetrain, lol! But the payload rating will be your limiting factor before the tow rating comes into play in most cases.
