Brought the new LivinLite Bearcat BC7X20 home today. Here are a couple of pics taken this morning at the dealership when picking it up:

For those in places still too cold to go camping. Colorado River/Davis Dam, just up the river from Laughin, NV.

Enjoying the sunset on the river.

Visitors to camp, my wife says it's just like home.

Magazine shot, Bullhead City in the background.

Setting up camp.

Default After much research...

And reading this thread for over a year, I finally popped for a 24 ft.ASPEN TRAIL 1900 TT. I feel it will serve me well in my new 'job' as camp host in the Nicolet Nat'l Forest(N. Wis) this summer--and many Xcountry trips. Photos to come...It's going into production in 2 weeks. I have been watching many YouTube training films, and got lots of useful info, but I respect the opinion and experience of the users on this thread.
Heres your chance to throw some good First Timer Advice at me, if you've got the time. (I'm too lazy to read all 300+pages here). Mostly, I'd like a users opinion of four things:
1. Was told this shorter dual-axle, 4300 lb unit doesn't really need a WDHitch. Is this a fact from your experience?
2. Which Sway Bar ***'y would you recommend?
3. What's your favorite on-line store for TT essentials?
4. Comment, advice or experience with SOLAR?
My thanks in advance. Come to Wisconsin, and see the EAA in Oshkosh before you die! Great for the family!!

First if all, I would recommend a WDH.....it will put the truck and trailer level together and helps keep the trailer from doing a lot of wagging. But that's where the sway mechanism comes in....it takes over and really controls the trailer movements, especially when you get passed by a semi.
I bought a UHaul WDH, with a slider sway control and it works fine with no complaints. Their are better units out their and it all depends on how much you want to spend. YouTube it and check out the different setups.
Don't know anything about solar.
Happy trailering!

As for hitches, I went with the Fastway E2 8,000 lb trunion bar WDH which has sway control built into the mechanism. Its the little brother to the Equal-i-zer WDH. Our trailer is close to yours in weight and length (26' 9" and 4480 dry). Haven't pulled very far yet but it leveled everything out nicely and seems to be stable so far.

The price was right and hooking up is really easy, plus no disconnecting to backup or for sharp turns.

1. I don't buy it. You can get the Equalizer WDH online at a good price and it has anti-sway built into it and will make the rig handle better. The Equalizer comes for different size (weight) trailers.
2. See #1
3. Shop for items. Campers World can be the cheapest or most expensive. I remember finding my Equalizer at RVWarehouse or something like that. I also get a lot from Amazon. PPL and others can be good too. Let your Google do your walking.
4. I got a Renogy 100W portable suitcase to start. That and a lot of reading have been good learning tools. Since the wife doesn't want panels on the roof, I plan to add on to the portable with a 100w panel and replace the 10w controller with a $30 Solar30 controller mounted in the RV. I will combine for 200w total.
