Looking good! I looked at Open Range, then went with Cougar High Country. Mine is less than 8K and travels better than my 5K travel trailer did. I will post photo here after I hook up for my first camping in 3 weeks.

Don't go to RV Net; they are brutal over there. I was told the EcoBoost is a sham and it is still just an F150. I didn't bother telling him his 3500 was still just a Chevy.

Glad to hear thoughts from someone in that weight. The wife and I are looking into some older used 5th wheels in the 7,000-8,500 lb. range for a reasonable price to see if she'll like it (I'm a huge camper and enjoy towing so I'm good to go). I have the roadmaster active suspension on order to help with the sag. I've had a thought about if I could add super springs and the RAS system, I just hate how sag looks and what it feels like when driving.

I love the gotta have 3/4+ or gotta have diesel crowd. Use your common sense and don't push your setup way beyond, but to be right near the limit is ok imo when using your brain power. There is a reason why that is the limit and not 80% of the limit like some also say not to exceed.

(Ducks to avoid the inevitable "your going to kill yourself, your family, and my family" response).

Anyways, back to the pictures. . . Love this thread.

Doesn't the supersprings go in the exact spot as the Roadmaster system? I'm going to order the supersprings SSA28 setup and they go on top of the leaf springs (same place as the roadmaster). I do believe SS helps up to 3000lbs and roadmaster helps up to 1500lbs, (yes I know they don't change the door sticker, the first worry is blowing the tire, if you put E rated tires on then you worry about your bearings and axle) I just like the leveled look too. Anyone know if the Super Springs stop the shudder like the roadmaster does ?

I had load problems with one of my trailers. I eventually just ordered a #7000 axle, rims, tires and springs. Now it's my favorite little trailer to haul anything from my ATV to an entire load of wood!

I had a B & W Companion installed. Set it as far forward as it would go and has high. Plenty of room in this short bed.

I have the Reese Sidewinder on my fiver and it does the job of a Pullrite Superglide at about 1/3 the weight. It moves the pivot point out of the truck and to the trailer.
The Max Turn design of these fivers works well for 6.5' beds but isn't quite there for the 5'7" bed.

I installed a B & W Companion hitch, slider was not necessary. The cut in the front easily clears the cab. When I take the hitch out I have the full bed to use. Rails are under the bed. Great set up.
