Especially, a big shout out to all of those in this thread: https://www.f150forum.com/f82/towing...50-fx4-251549/
That made it possible for me to safely post in this thread!

I think we have the same trailer besides the slide out... tried talking the wife into the one you have because it's 1k pds lighter. she wasn't having it so we're slightly over payload now

That's awesome! We had the same talk - I think I won by being overly skeptical on the weight. Had I known what I know now I would have gotten a truck with a better payload and couldn't have steered the discussion my way. Also would have been substantially more poor as the 2011 we just bought was the only option around at that price, the similar one, which she wanted, with a slide was either 2013 or 2014 and substantially more expensive.

my wife was a mechanic for toyota and while she prefers not to work on cars/trucks, she knows a bit about them so it's harder to snow her on the facts... I am over payload and I told her we would be but we're from a small farm town where people use their trucks to the actual breaking point... not the manufacturer's suggested limits. I still prefer to be under those limits but I'm happy with our camper... do you mind me asking what you paid? we got our 2014 (last june... seems early for a new year model to come out) for 19k but the 2013 without the slide out was 15ish if i remember correctly

Haha, makes sense. I think I'm pretty close to the limit too. I'm sure on the odd near distance trip I'll go over a bit, likely will be the payload and not anything else.

No problem, $11,000. Seems barely used, we compared to a few at dealers that were a few more k, plus GST, fees, etc. One we put an offer on but it sold, I think it was the exact same layout and model, but not a swift and it was $14k, so I moved pretty fast when the seller agreed on $11k. I think it was bought for $19 and change 3 years ago.

Lets see your campers being towed-image-2190741571.jpg This is my truck pulling my dad's 7500 lb. heavy, old trailer to a new spot on our hunting property. Only had to move 150 ft. So no big deal. I was surprised the trailer didn't squat the rear too badly at all.

Picked up a new toy hauler this past December. I have a 2013 F-150 STX 4x4 with 5.0, other than the 9mpg while towing the camper it handled it just fine. Looking forward to trips out to the lake with it this summer.

I think it is somewhere around San Antonio, TX from more detailed posting on the trailer mods on the Heartland Owner's Forum.

It looks like the same mods and the same trailer.

Default Beat the storm to our property.

First time towing the trailer with the Ecoboost. It did a great job the only problem was the wind before the storm, 60 mph wind gusts not fun. The truck surprised me, I went from a F350 7.3L Powerstroke to the F150 3.5 Ecoboost it had as much power as the F350. The only difference that I could tell was the truck was lighter and the wind affected it more.

The maiden voyage with our new TT. I'm mazes at how well the Limited Eco boost pulls the trailer.

Do you use sway control? A quality sway control hitch can go a long way towards curbing trailer sway.
