Is'nt the fact that there is sand a sure sign that water can and will go up to there? Do they just park there for a while and then move before the tide comes in?

I'm sure that is above the "normal" high tide. Many or most east coast beaches have sand well above the "normal" high tide.

Sand moves around from tide and wind,the high water mark is closer to the water.......Supper storm Sandy moved a lot of sand high on the beach.

Yea there are areas of nc that have sand like that for miles away from the high tide line. Barring hurricanes
