My 5'r was 8601 stickered at delivery. I have the HD payload + Max tow and I am 'just' under my numbers and I mean just. That is combat loaded as well, but we don't take the rock collection.

Do you tow much in the hills etc? If so, I'd be a tad nervous with that combo. What hitch did you go with?

Pull Rite Superglide. Don't tow over overly hilly area. When I get the Roadmaster Active Suspension it will level out the load. Towed it home from Harrisburg last fall and it went well and I felt I had total control.

Looks real nice!

Enjoy and happy camping...

Be careful over on the RV forums...those 2500/F250 and 3500/F350 boys get real butthurt when they see F150's hauling a 5er.

Nice Mark but I think a Kodiak Brown would match better with your trailer.

Yeah, I know. I just ignore the weight police comments. I am confident in my truck and how it will be setup.. I am aware of it's limitations.

There is a large state park campground at the end of the road I live on, you could sit out by the road on a Saturday for a couple hours and count dozens of 1/2 tons pulling 5'ers. I see a ton of them around here.

Ya I'm betting 95 percent of 1/2 tons are overweight and there's tons of half tons pulling fivers, I know mine is over but it pulls great and Im used to pulling heavy things and driving huge equipment being a farmer. trailer has brakes so stopping isn't an issue, but even if it didn't it would still be fine. I'm actually surprised it didn't squat more than it did, these f150s are built great!

I've wondered what happens if someone gets into a big wreck and they were over legal weight when it happens. Might insurance not cover the incident? What if it is so bad that someone dies as a result of the accident? Could the driver be guilty of criminal negligence or something of that nature? Seems a bit scary to me to think what the consequences could be in a completely accidental situation but where the yellow tag on the trailer clearly exceeds the legal limits on the tow vehicle.

I expect it is a thing that would probably never occur for most people and is a moot point. But... If it did happen... What then?
