Ok, guys, as much as I love a good weight thread, why don't we keep this on topic - pictures pulling campers.

Probably not if you are just pulled over.
I am sure though it has some real weight in case something very seriously bad happens and being significantly over the limit is brought up by the others party in the court room. Now it becomes negligence. Sure, as long as nothing happens it's all good.

Give it a rest ok? I would just like to see the pictures of what members are towing. Take everything else to another thread.

No harm no foul if he's within his limits I just get annoyed with the "I'll do what I want" mindset when there are reasons for the ratings thats all...No one is worried about the Darwin award candidates they are worried about the innocent bystanders those candidates are endangering.

I'm chill trust me. Just retorting his ignorant comment about those worried about weights and limits.

I'm fully aware of this. I in no way have a "holier than thou" mindset either. If you have the right equipment to tow what you are towing then all is good. But if you are knowingly pushing the limits and being ignorant about it then it's going to get a reaction. I have my commercial driver's license and I have seen first hand too many stupid mistakes on the roads from people not knowing what they are doing or chosing not to care. I think in a lot of cases its people choosing not to care. I'm not saying anyone on here is like this but there are way too many people out there who think that since dad let them back his bass boat into the drive that they know how to tow. My point is that the people commenting on the weights and limits aren't trying to boss anyone around...they are sticking up for the poor souls that schmuck is endangering on the road by choosing not to care.
I was just behind a guy the other day on the interstate that lost control of his Uhaul trailer that he was towing with his Subaru. He had no idea what happened or why Luckily no one was hurt.

Anyhoo. Sorry for the derailment. Lets see some more pics!

Your load is absolutely ridiculous. You are well over your capacity, I can state that definitively just by looking. Significantly. It is not close.

I wouldn't recommend coming to Colorado trying to pull that crap. They'll throw your butt in the clink. I've seen it happen in Estes Park. The man spent the night in the local drunk tank and his life was significantly altered, according to the papers.

Not trying to be an E-tough guy sir, just trying to be a decent human being. You are putting people at risk towing that, period. Whatever driving skill you think you may have doesn't mitigate physics.

If you can't afford the right toys for the job, sir, consider a second job or a new hobby.

I won't clog up the thread any more, sorry everyone. I thought a while about whether or not I should make this post. I feel strongly about wreckless driving. As an EMT, I've seen many body parts scattered across highways in my life because people thought that their driving situation was "their business."

Again I apologize for the "negative vibes" and distraction. Carry on.

Now guys, if you keep this up, it's very possible that the mods could close this thread. Since I started this thread, I don't want it closed.

Take your disagreements to another thread. I'm not one for overloading either but Ford obviously just pulls their GVWR out of the air, I can give several examples. Legally in a commercial truck, axle weight ratings are what matter. Unfortunately our trucks have the lowest axle ratings out of any maker for one of the heaviest 1/2 ton trucks made.

My rear axle rating is 4,800 lbs if I remember correctly. Is there another half ton with a higher rating? (no, I do not want to argue, not at all. This is a real question, I want to know. Thought I mention that right away to avoid misunderstandings. )

You have the heavy duty package which is 3/4 ton capacity.

Most F150s have only a 3850 lbs rear axle with some having a 4000 lbs. Most front axles are 3750 lbs while some are 3900 lbs. GM, Dodge and Toyota all have axles between 3900 lbs and 4000 lbs for both front and rear and they are much lighter trucks. To be on the same playing field we all should have 4250 lbs front and rear axles.

Now back on topic as I won't be responding no more to off topic subjects.

Dont know why you guys are picking on prariesailor so much, his setup looks far safer than country4life50s, who admits to being over weight, prariesailor has never said hes over, only that hes close.
