Bummer, I have the rings in my wheels because they aren't hub centric or whatever so looks like I won't be towing with my aftermarket tires, don't want them breaking studs. Didn't seem to squat to bad though so I think I'll be golden! Going to have to wait on pics of it attached.

A big thanks to IronJoce because without his knowledge I would've pulled it with my aftermarket tires and probably busted all studs off because I never knew there was a difference.

A steel hub centric ring is nothing to be scared of

Adjust the hitch using the washers so the angle is more pronounced and you can litterally lift the back of the truck...

Try to avoid messing with airbags if you don't need to.

Good luck
I went back through the setup and found that the EQ ends up being just too tight to accomplish what I was looking for. You are correct that you can lift the back of the truck and push the weight to the front but too much defeats the purpose and leaves the truck more prone to a potential to jackknife.

So the bags are on their way to me and I'll give them a try. I don't see any reason the bags won't work, just as long as they don't negatively effect my ride when empty.

They won't affect the ride if you deflate them when not towing ;-)

Off course air bags will help, they are just a pain to deal with if you do not have compressor.

Let us know how it goes

If you have a ring you kind of have hub centric wheels... but still wouldn't tow with this ;-)

Anyway, be safe and let us know how it goes

Cheers

I have air bags for towing my 6" lifted truck. I also have air compressor. I have wireless remote so I can watch from outside while inflating air bags. Also, don't even know Thier there when there are deflated. Actually mine dont deflate 100% they run a minimum of 5psi automatically.

I believe it is just a nylon ring used to center them though I did not actually take a wheel off, I just removed the lug nut cover and saw something blue in there. All weight is on wheel studs from what I can tell unless it is a steel ring then I guess I can see it acting like the weight is on the hub and not the studs still like you say I don't think I would trust it either, one good bump and snap goes your studs. At any rate I still have my stock rims and only plan to tow a few times a year so swapping tires won't be a big deal, just an inconvenience. Of course I did a Google search and guys with super dutys are towing with the steel rings and aftermarket tires but I'm sure their studs are stronger. I'd rather be safe than sorry.

Will do. I have a compressor and may even buy a cheap one to put under my rear seat and run the air lines to that area so that I don't have to worry about finding a place to air up when we are out of town with the trailer.

Good to hear that deflated at 5 psi you don't notice them. Someone had commented on here that they could notice a ride difference even when deflated, but I didn't think the 5 psi would be that noticeable.

Very nice setup you have with the compressor and remote! Too much for me to justify, but I like
