Lets see your campers being towed

I guess I should lift my truck, put big boots on it and double the size of my trailer. That should bring my 9 mpg's up to around 13 right?
Right.
Anyhow, I get around 10mpg at 62ish. 9mpg at 67ish.

13MPG will never happen with this setup. With these tires and this trailer it is 7 or 9 if he was going downhill both ways as you said ;-)

Picking mine up tomorrow. Supper excited. Were getting a used 2008 Thor summit. Its a 28 foot bunk house. perfect for my little family. I move a lot being in the military so it will be nice to have a place to stay while we look for places when we move.
So quick question, is it the wind resistance that kills your gas millage or is the weight. I towed my wife's car fully loaded with stuff and a truck bed full of stuff and I was getting 14mpg. the load was about 6500 lb. As you can tell I am new to whole travel trailer world but I am excited to get on the road with it. Pics to follow when i pic it up.

So if some people can make an educated decision does that mean that the laws do not apply to them. Sure 1 or even 100 pounds might not be bad. Bt there are alot of people well over the ratings. I wonder what a judge would say when you used that as defense. " I made an educated decision your honour" Judges repsonse " are you an engineer" Defedant "no" Judge " while i guess your not educated"
See i am not trying to be holy than anyone just want the right to be safe on the road. Just my 2 cents

That said, I am an engineer and even if it is legal to be over the limits noted on the sticker, that does not mean it is a good idea. I agree with Buck, if people who overloaded only put themselves at risk I might not have a problem with it (Darwin Award anyone?) but they put everyone around them at risk as well.
