Lets see your campers being towed

ColdWar Vet-USN Shellback
We stayed at Clute (W/E/S/cable/wifi), which is in the town of Watkins Glen. Not much scenery but it is close to wineries and we don't have kids so being close to adult beverage locations were the main choices. While in WG, go do the State Park with all the water falls in the gorge...well worth the hike (park on top and walk down early in the morning, catch shuttle bus @ $3/person back to top). We stayed at Waterloo Harbor up on the top of the lakes between Seneca and Cayuga...again close to wineries with W/E/S/wifi and we went to the Adirondack Mountains too. Over on Keuka we stayed at Budvalley campgrounds. W/E hookups only.
The campgrounds aren't really anything to write home about but location was good and we used it as a base only.
Sorry, I'll post some pix as I get them downloaded...work is getting in the way.

I have a 2010 keystone springdale, and the dry weight is 6800#. It's been in a park for 2 seasons and I want to pull it now. Here is my concern, 2002 f150 super crew lariat, rated @ 8000# and I have a WD set up. Now I am thinking I will be close to the max fully loaded with passengers and luggage. Tanks empty tho. Am I worrying too much, or would anyone else feel comfortable pulling this load this close to the max? I did pull it with my 97 f150 5.4, but that was only a half hr drive.

Load it up and weigh it on scales. Will the truck not move if its 20lbs. Over? It will be fine. If you were hundreds of pounds over it might be different. I am sure some will want to damn you to safety hell even over 20 lbs. but in the real world, it will be fine.

I'm about 600 over payload but 2000 under towing and it does fine.

Heres a pic of my 08 lariat backing our camper/fish house into our spot for the weekend. Included a driveway shot of the setup and a couple inside pics.
I like camping in it but I just got it a month ago and I can't wait to go ice fishing with it!

Gas Mileage
Just got back this morning from a 12 day, 2200 mile trek up to the Finger Lakes area of Upper New York from the STL area. Overall mileage was 11.2 running premium gas and we had no problems with the truck or the 5'er all the way. Drove all the way back from Watkins Glen, NY to home after going thru the Corning Glass Museum yesterday morning. Got in at 5:30 this morning. Went to 3 different campgrounds while up there and had a very good time. That truck sure drives nice...even in torrential downpours in West NY, Northern PA and Eastern Ohio.
I have 2012 F150 Platinum Ecoboost 3.73 with Max Tow hauling a 30' Foot KZ MXT Toyhauler. Just finished up a 4800 mile trip from NC out to Utah area and back. I ran regular gas and only got 8.3 mpg. Ran Speed limit+ most of the time. Cat scales had our trailer at 7,000 pounds loaded up. We did have a lot of wind.
