Its not a fair comparison until you make both engines natural asperation, or both turbo.

If my memory serves me correctly volumetric efficiency would mean the 5.0l can have a VE of what 75% or 85%? That would be 3.75l or 4.25l of actual air moving through the cylinder at sea level. A twin turbo 3.5l can get a VE of (I'm guessing) 150%. That would mean it is moving 5.25l of air at about any level.
I found this web site recently that compares the EcoBoost to the 5.0. It is a good read for anyone that hasn't made up their mind as to which motor they want in their truck.

I prefer low end torque low RPM. It just might last longer IMO.

And 12 replies later, not a single trailer! Ecoboost vs. V-8 vs. diesel seems to have a life of its own.
Back to trailers with hauling dirt with a single axle 5X8 utility trailer.
That's 1 cubic yard of dirt.
Overloaded?
Nah!

2011 F150 5.0L and our new 2012 Island Trail (dutchmen) 275BH. A quick snap her with the wife and #1 daughter. I will get another pic with it hooked up to post, and some more camping "in action" pics too.
