We have a 2014 Screw Lariat Max Tow EcoBoost (which has to be the best tow engine extant in a 1/2 ton!). Our current TT is a Keystone Bullet 285 RLS, with a dry weight of 5,800 lbs and a tongue weight of 580. We also have Michelin LTX 10 plies.
I've been towing for the last 4 years with the base Equalizer WDH -- the one with the chains, and the friction bar anti sway. We've done 18,000 miles with that setup, and I always thought that towing felt a little squirrelly.
We just left for another 10,000 mile trip, so we decided to bite the bullet and upgrade to the top of the line 4 point Equalizer. My dealer told me that the friction bar generates only about 80 pounds of anti sway, while the new hitch when properly set up, has over 300 pounds......we just drove the first 300 miles on our current trip in high winds....and never even felt like the TT was back there. It was an IMMENSE difference from our old towing setup.
Folks, if you are considering a TT, or have one.....pay a little more and get the E4....you will NOT regret it.

I haven't tried any others, but haven't had any reason to, either. 4-point is a good system.

Also agree that the EB is the only 1/2 ton powertrain I want. Just towed another 550 miles last weekend in mountains, wind, and open road, and love the performance. I had forgotten how well it tows!

At highway speeds, almost every grade can be climbed in 4th gear at a nice and quiet 3,000 rpm.......I hated the sound of my old 5.4 trying to do the same thing in 3rd gear at 4,200 rpm. It did NOT sound happy.

I have the Equalizer 4 point and it works great. I haven't towed yet with new level up front and rear air bags, but will be trying out the new combination in a few weeks.

I hope this combination works well for you. I put bags on my first truck, and when I had them inflated enough to take some of the sag out of the back, it felt like I had no rear suspension at all.......like it was a hard tail chopper. The rear axle banged and shook the truck over every pavement imperfection.
Again, I pray for better for you. Leveling and towing can be a tricky combination.

That is why I chose the Air Lift Road Control air bags. I also wanted help with handling unloaded and was contemplating adding a anti sway bar. The air bags give the results I want. I had already towed my TT with the Equalizer setup before the suspension mods and it did great. I wanted the look of the "level", but without rear sag with the load and harsh unloaded ride of a heavier spring. My truck rides just a smooth as it did before the mods and has better lateral stability. The WDH will take enough load off the rear as to not have to over inflate the bags to keep it up.
I will post up experiences with this new combination. I will be taking a camping trip in a few weeks.

So far, 2,000 miles with the new setup......
Today was another day of high cross winds, and I am more convinced than ever that I made the right choice with this hitch. I would have been into the truck's "slow down anti sway activated" warning nanny just about every other mile today (from Las Vegas to Williams, AZ on highway 40) with my old truck and hitch. Not even once with the new setup. A couple of times a very strong side gust caught us, and the hitch did one little "whoops" and then immediately straightened out with no steering input from me. Simply AMAZING compared to how we used to tow!!!!
