Default Just double checking.

I have read and searched this forum for a couple hours now, I actually have a headache now.
But I need someone to tell me I understand this correctly.
I never imagined all these precautions you need to take with weight, never really thought about it until I started reading.

I have a 16 XL Scab, 2.7 2wd 6.5 bed.
Rear end is a 3.31
Yellow sticker in the door says 1703 Pounds.
When I bought the truck, vehicle sticker had some info:
Trailer Sway control
#6250 GVWR Package.

Now for what I am trying to tow.
The trailer I have access to is a enclosed trailer, around 2100#, I want to throw my Harley in there from time to time, so say another 1000#. So total around 3100 pounds.

So using 15% for tongue weight (465), I should have enough for my fat butt plus any clothes, etc.

Am I getting this right?

Thanks
Rob

You are in fine with this trailer.

The only limit I see you approaching is the 500 lb tongue weight limit for pulling without a weight distribution hitch.

yep, sounds OK. If you already have a WDH and brackets then you could use that, BUT I'd say it's not necessary. Just be smart loading. That Harley probably weighs closer to 850# so you could load it closer to the axles or put a toolbox or something else kinda heavy near the back ramp to balance.

A bathroom scale and some time and you can double check your Tongue Weights. But I think you should do just fine.
