Default Is the integrated trailer brake controller standard?

I'm going to get a 2015 Lariat FX4 soon...is the brake controller stock or does it come with an option package, or what? I need to make sure my truck will have it and it's coming from another dealer.

I looked on the Ford website and neither the tow package or the FX4 package list it as part of their package.

Even with the Lariat I think you need the MaxTow package which includes it, or get it separately if you only have the regular Tow Package.

Mine will have the FX4 and the 695.00 tow package, but not max tow. I didn't want the 3.73.

It can be added afterward, right? That cannot be done on a GM.

Oh yes. Easy-peasy. Buy one on the internet (cheaper) and install it yourself then get the dealer to flash the truck's computer so it is recognized.

Or get your dealer to do the whole thing. Cheaper though when factory installed.

It looks easy enough to install after the fact.

Thanks Guys! Pics next week, after I get it.

It has to be trailered to Austin from somewhere (?) else.

The integrated brake controller is included in the Max Tow and Heavy Duty Payload Packages, and is available as a stand-alone option (option code 67T on the Lariat). It is not included in the 2.7 Ecoboost Payload package or the regular tow package.

Thanks. It is NOT on my window sticker, so I will add it later.

Max tow on the 2015's doesn't add 3.73's.... Just 3.55 Elock.
HD adds the 3.73's.

And... I don't think you need to have anything "flashed" to add an aftermarket Trailer Brake controller...
