im somewhat familiar with the Spokane area, are you going to head to Idaho? if so then your 150 is going to have 1 hell of a time. lol aslong as its nothing to serious, just keep it slow and watch your engine temps, give the truck breaks to cool down from time to time if its that long of a drive.

why cant you borrow your dads 7.3?

Hahahaha the only time i can drive any of their vehicles is if he's with me. Kind of a **** about stuff and getting him to help me with much is a pita. Took him almost a month to come help me take all my yard waste to the dump when i didn't have a truck. I wouldn't be going over any passes but i would be driving up sunset hill on my way out to lake roosevelt. Won't be going any past cda with the trailer. Hopefully i can figure out how to free up some ponies as well to give it a better fighting chance.

aslong as the trucks been maintained the biggest bang for your buck will be gears. ofcourse theirs exhaust, MSD upgrades with a timing bump. but those wont net you as noticeable of a gain as just swapping gears.

which i dont think anyone has asked, what gears do you have? you can check your door jamb for the axle code and i can tell you what gears you have if you dont know.

I won't be hauling either trailers all that much but i want to be able to when i do need to. Might as well have the capabilities when i do need it rather than run around like a chicken with my head cut off trying to figure out how to find a vehicle to pull a trailer.
Save your money with the exhaust and intake and use it for something like a weight distributing hitch or better shocks or SuperSprings. RV shops have brake controllers and can install them. Exhaust and intake won't produce enough HP to do you any good and 33s will make it even worse for towing.

I don't know what the gears are. Am i gonna notice a massive drop in mpg with a better gear setup. I want the exhaust and intake more just to give it a little better power increase and maybe a little better fuel economy. Hopefully it will cover the extra heavy of the 33's plus i want some nice sound out of it. What is a weight distributing hitch? I'm guessing it has something to do with weight distrubution i'm just curious exactly how it works and such. Thanks for the info guys. This is super helpful. I was having little faith within this forum as most of the times i've posted anything nobody has replied.

You will get a drop in MPG with bigger tires. There is a reason the SuperDuty uses 17" rims/tires.

A wdh uses "torsion bars" (for lack of a better term) attached at the trailer tongue and trucks reciever hitch, under load, to distribute some if the tongue wieght to the front of the truck.
