I'm surprised the 2.7 EB blows it's doors off. I figured a closer match to the baby EB motor. They seem to paint the Dodge EcoDiesel as more geared towards the fuel efficiency aspect of diesels moreover the power/torque for towing.

Yeah, you need raw HP to maintain speed on that slope towing. The EcoD is pretty low in HP.

I wouldn't mind so much if the truck had decent payloads. Towing up the Rockies at low speeds would just give us more time to watch the scenery.

But I couldn't stand it on the Prairies when fighting headwinds all day.

Really would of liked to see the 2.7 mpg when pulling at 50 mph. Either way, I would want the power available.

Exactly. Poor payload capacity. So, what do you really do with the Dodge. Pay extra for diesel and try to feel good about it.

Thought the ED forums were rather cute. These guys have a rabid following for their truck.

LOL! This exact same statement comes up on all the Dodge forums about the EB too... a rabid sometimes irrational following. The ram forums right now remind me of when the EcoBoost hit the lots. A lot of in-fighting and sibling rivalry. I don't get it, but it keeps them entertained I guess.

Hook a trailer to it and go. That's pretty much how it goes.
