Default I need to move 4k lbs of tile... opinions?

I have a stock 2010 Platinum with 5.3l engine and an axle listed on the door as "15". I think that's 3:15 option. I don't have the optional towing package, but have the factory hitch and hookups. MY owners manual indicates my setup should be capable of 14,000 GCWR-lb and 8500 Max trailer lb.

Anyways... I need to move 4,000lbs of tile this weekend for a remodel. I was planning on renting the 6x12 trailer with ramp from uhual. It has a Max load: 2,110 lbs. Gross vehicle weight: 4,400 lbs. max. I was then going to put ~2100lbs tile on the trailler and ~1900lbs of tile in the pickup bed. Distribute everything as best as possible for transport. I will be traveling about 30 miles on partial highways.

Will my f150 be up for the challenge? Should I accept defeat and just rent a box truck for the day? Thoughts? Any tips for a towing newb?

I'd guess you will be way overweight. What does your payload sticker (on the drivers door) say in terms of payload?

1) I think your 1900# in the bed will already be over the payload.
2) You then need to add in the resulting tongue weight from the trailer you are pulling. Even at 10% (which is likely low given that this is an enclosed trailer?) would result in about 440# in tongue weight, which then puts you at 2340# plus...

30 miles isn't that big of a deal...why not just make three trips and eliminate the need to rent the 6x12 uhaul?

ETA: Alternatively, get a big enough trailer to carry all 4,000# at once. My 2500# 20' utility trailer has a GVWR of 10k pounds. Things like this are available for rent. (But honestly, I would just make multiple trips w/things in the truck bed, I did this for 1800' of hardwood flooring with my old 2003 Silverado before I had my utility trailer and the place I got the hardwood flooring from had no problem with me making multiple pickups.)

A bigger trailer would suit you better. Than you could just put all 4k lbs in the trailer.

It's in south Florida, where 30 miles can quickly equal 1 hour travel time. Add in loading and unloading each trip and I'm not sure if I can do it one day. I'm only there for a day and a half so I need to get it done in one day max.

The sticker confirms I'll be overloaded. Darn :-(

Regarding the trailer; That's the largest capacity trailer that Uhaul has. Enterprise only has a 3 hour window on Saturday and closed on Sunday, so it won't work with my schedule.

Looks like I'll be getting a box truck.

Rent a car trailer from u-haul which will easily handle the weight.
Tile doesn't need to be indoors during transport

FYI Ford doesn't have. 5.3 engine.

Oops... typo! I meant 5.4l engine.

I also considered the car trailer since it has a MUCH higher weight capacity but all of the uhual car trailers around here don't have a solid deck. They just have 2 tracks to drive up on. That would pose some problems for distributing the pallets and would have probably required me to construct some sort of wooden decking to support them.

Have the supplier put the tile on pallets and use some 4x4's under the pallets to distribute the weight. If you ask at the supplier I am sure they would help you out since you have such a big purchase.

I have the same type of open car hauler and used this type of method all the time before I filled in the middle section with aluminum.

Look at equipment rental places local to you for a heavier capacity trailer.
