I'm just stating facts even with the 8.8 redesign I tell ya what I'll do I'll get pinion bearing pics of both to prove my point
Oddly enough, I am a genius so yeah, I guess I am pretty smart. And no, I do not work on cars for a living (and I do not know any geniuses who do), I am just a mechanical engineer.

I already said that if the upgraded 8.8 could handle what the 9.75 could they would no longer be using the 9.75. Of course, you just ignored that part (which is odd since it supported your argument). I know the 8.8 is not as stout as the 9.75 but that does not mean it is not up to the task of being used in a half ton truck.

As for your comment about seeing more bearing failures in 8.8's than in 9.75's, I believe that. My only question how the ratio of failures compares to the ratio of those two axles on the road. Unfortunately, I do not have the answer to that question. Without that information, your comment means nothing.

I have not been able to find any information about what Ford changed on the 8.8, only that it was beefed up. That could mean almost anything.

I also did find that some 99-01 F150's with 9.75 used the 8.8 bearings for whatever reason.

Since you like to overload your truck, I will leave you with this: Since the 8.8 and 9.75 share the same RAWR in many cases, it should be obvious that the limiting factor is not the axle assembly itself. Your bearings looked fine because it is not the axle you were overloading, it was something else.

Yea well when the truck fails I'll be sure to let u know, which if I prevoious truck a 95 f150 never failed, this truck is by far stronger, it's clearly not the solid Frame that's the weak link, as I said before the c channel frame never failed, these trucks are heavier duty than 95-97 250 by far except the rear bearings in the axle, it's funny a heavy payload trucks rear numbers are higher, I know you gonna say the frame is stronger I've never seen a frame failure in my 34 years, I'll get the details on the upgraded 15 8.8 that's easy enough to do I know they upgraded the axle bearing back in 04 to the same as the 9.75, I know in 2011 the f150 9.75 got even bigger pinion bearings but I'll get pictures
