Your payload is 400# higher than mine but I have a 4x4 SCrew with the 36 gal tank (not sure if you have the 23 or the 36 but if you have the 23, that's 80# of the difference right there.) I've also got the factory 20's which are probably 8-10# heavier than the 18's (each) so there's another 30#.

Payloads on the 2015's are substantially higher than on the previous gen unless you have the 2.7 and 6500# GVWR. I gained over 400# payload and a bunch of options that I did not have on my last truck.

Thanks for the correction. When I surfed to Ford.com, I didn't see an option to built a 2015.

And that 8.8 saves 35lb over the 9.75 (although I don't recall any question about what the rear end was).

No there wasent but some body mention us max out gvwr on rear of vehicle first and if t has the 8.8 the rear gvwr will be lower than that of a 9 3/4 that was the only point

Actually, except for the 164" wb SuperCab, ALL Supercabs and Supercrews have the same rear axle rating whether they have the 3.5EB or the 5.0 unless they have the Heavy Duty Payload package, 3800# is what you get. (At least according to the 2015 F150 Source Book).

Funny if that's the case ford just isn't young the rating on the 9 3/4 cause I've worked on both the 9 3/4 is so much heavier duty, just me personally I'd rather have the big boy rear end nothing wrong with the 8.8 I have in my cars holding lots of power at the wheels but for heavy weights 9 3/4 wins

So you've worked on the 8.8 in the '15+ F150? If not, maybe you should find one to tear down because supposedly they beefed it up. Has it been upgraded to handle what the 9.75 can? Obviously not or they wouldn't still be using the 9.75.

As for your precious 9.75, yes, we all know how proud you are that you have the 9.75, you tell us all about it every chance you get while passive aggressively knocking the 8.8. Good for you. Glad you like what you have.

As for the axle rating, consider that there is a lot more to it than just the axle. So your axle can handle more than the 8.8 but there are other components that probably cannot live up to the rating of your axle (and I doubt the 8.8 is the weak point in the system either).

Aren't u just a smart ***** do u work on cars for a living??? I'm stating facts a 9.75 is by far heavier duty than a 8.8 even with the revision, I have a 8.8 in 4 different race cars and they by far handle everthing I've thrown at them one vehicle makes 850 rwhp, I'm staying from a tow vehicle point of view, my 05 has been over the rear axle number all its life with no side effects, I installed 4.10s recently bearings looked new and I have a Whipple so it's not like it's not worked, also if the 8.8 was so good why didn't they just drop the 9.75 rear end, I've worked at 2 ford dealers and by far worked on more 8.8 with bearing issues than 9.75! I'm just stating facts even with the 8.8 redesign I tell ya what I'll do I'll get pinion bearing pics of both to prove my point
