Just make sure it has the Heavy Duty Payload option. Don't think you can get that in a short bed. HD Payload option is rare, and you will almost certainly have to order it special. The salesperson will try to talk you out of it and sell you something on their lot; ignore him.

Honestly, I'd do a superduty.

You also need to watch on truck campers as some of the older ones aren't tall enough to clear the f150 bedsides.

Superduty, IMO, is the way you need to go.

The guy said no super dutys. Sadly you cant get heavy payload with a supercab shortbed. The 8 foot bed makes for a very long truck. The supercab shortbeds will get you about 1700 lbs payload. Not quite enough, but if you you get some add a leaf springs and LT tires it will help-not legally but for safety reasons. Just take it easy. *correction, you can get a super cab short bed with 7700 GVWR. That should get you the closest but you must get the ecoboost with max tow. This is the best solution without having to get a super long truck.
