Default The Great And The Bad

For the past 5 years I have been pulling a 7 x 14 tandem axle cargo trailer (extended height) a couple times a week. My Tahoe (for the last 5 years) did pretty well but I was not impressed.

My new F150 has now passed a thousand miles, today I pulled my trailer on a fairly short trip (15 miles each way highway and about 5 miles city).

The great;
This truck powered with ecoboost is awesome! I can honestly say rolling at 70 mph on the highway was a breeze. Even going up some fair grades the truck never came out of 5th gear to maintain 70. I'm super impressed and very happy with my choice of the F150.

The bad:
Driving an suv for the past 5 years the hatch always lifted up. Without a thought I dropped the tailgate and then thought "Oh S&*t".... yep, small ding on my tailgate from the top of the tongue jack. At least it was small, almost looks like it's from a BB gun. Going to get one of those fix a door dent companies to look at it. Maybe the dealer can help in some manner.

Steve

before you spend money. try a toilet plunger. press in real hard and give it a good hard yank. may just bring that small dent out.

And don't leave anything on the truck's bumper when you drop the tailgate either.

I did the same but had the Dzee tailgate assist and it drops slow enough that I caught it before I could make contact.
