To get the thread off track.... Sort of... Because I just found this thread
My pops--> Had a 2 inch ball in hitch at all times for the last 9 years. He gets rear ended about twice a year and he mangles civics (or some other car) everytime with no damage to his truck
My truck --> 4 years no trailer hitch. Already damaged bumper from the previous owner. Waiting for someone to rear end me so I can get it fixed under their insurance. Haven't been hit once. He is the most cautious drive too so I don't know where I stand on this..
