Grease on 7 pin?
Does anyone use dielectric grease on their 7 pin connections to prevent corrosion?
I have a truck camper and take it out onto the beach where there is some sal****er spray in the air and fog.
I recently put a very thin layer of grease on it and now the lights are not working proberly. the running lights shut off when I hit brakes, brake lights dont work at all, all the running lights flash when when I use the turn signals and I have no backup lights. Any advise is appreciated.

Ummm ........ remove the grease?
Just funnin' ya'.
I don't use it.
My first thought is that you would have problems putting liquid on electrical components.
I've not heard of this. Is dielectric grease made for this purpose?

I assume it goes on the outside of the connector?
Seems to me, if you put it on the connections, you would run in to the problems Bass is encountering.
Again, not familiar.
Asking because I am interested in learning.

That's what the grease is made for; but to troubleshoot your issues you're on the right path. Clean the plugs and and dry with a hair dryer or heat gun for a few seconds.
What do you mean by "truck camper?" Do you have a travel trailer that you're towing or a camper that actually mounts in the bed of the truck?

the grease is contacting several pins at one time causing issues...clean it out like stated above and put a light coat on the female connector then plug it in...this will coat the male pins without causing cross connection.

It is a camper that sits in the bed of the truck. I had started to clean them out with Qtips and alcohol swabs but didnt have a chance to test it b/c I was called into work early. I will post friday or sat after I test it out. Thanks!
