first time towing with my Eco, and my edge tuner
I have a 2012 f150 screw lariat 4x4 Ecoboost with the edge tuner. my current tune is the 87 octane tune. should I install the tow tune and then use the tow/haul button, or use the factory tune and run the tow haul button.
any advice would be great.
it's an aljo trailer. 5400lbs dry.

Keepin' the lights on!
Use the tow tune with the tow/haul button. May want to use premium fuel as well.

Tow/haul button changes the tranny's shift points. With your tow tune that may not be necessary, dunno.
But the tow/haul also keeps the Torque Converter locked up (almost always as far as I can tell). So your tranny stays cooler. Don't think your tune can do that.
And I think tow/haul also causes the tranny to downshift more agressively when decelerating.
All good reasons to use tow/haul along with your tune when loaded.

I have been towing with my Ecoboost alot with a 6,600lb Nash trailer, I've been over the Rockys in Co. and over other 8,800 ft passes with only a stock set up and 3;31 gears and have had no prorblems I can go 70mph
all the way and still have lots of power left to pass or get back up to speed if I get slowed down by someone. So you can do the 87 octane tune if you want. I run it on a stock set up, or if I'm in Co i run the midle grade of gas. with no problemsand LOTS of POWER!

ok, my trailer was easy to pull. hardly felt it.. 6000lb 2005 aljo 2680! I did notice one. at wide open throttle on an acceleration. a different noise. like a floating type mechanical noise. but if I backed off the throttle it was fine.... any ideas?
