I pulled a 29 foot cougar with my 2012 and it towed great I now have a 2015 and pull a 27 foot cougar and don't think it handles it as well rear end sag and transmission gearing seems off the 12 would pull in 6 gear the 15 never gets in 6th I have also used the twin 2000i set up many times no proble just don' run ac and microwave same time by the way the keystone cougar line is a great trailer mpg for the 12 was 7/8 and the 15 7/8

It's an additional capacitor you can add to the rooftop AC unit in order to make it easier to start and reduce the amount of "shock load" on your generator often tripping the generators overload protection. It's pretty simple really, just another capacitor which stores energy for when the thermostat engages the AC, there's less amp draw required to turn the compressor over. Find out the make/model of your AC then jump on their website for the proper hard-start kit. I then bought mine off Amazon or Ebay..

Heading out to the show now. We will not be buying.

I especially like the idea of a test tow when the time comes.

This expedition is all about what size do we want and what amenities. The wife really wants to sleep 5 and have a shower. Other than that, how much interior room do we want/need.

Well, the show was educational.

First thing I learned. Vendors sell on dry weight and argue that max weight is a red herring. "Of course you can tow an 11K lb trailer with your F150. Its rated to like 12k lbs." Yeah, right!

We only saw about half the trailers and were burned out. Mostly Forest river stuff and jayco. Jayco is very proud of their products.

It looks, for us, that a 27-31 ft TT in bunkhouse configuration with a living area slide-out is the best fit. I'd have to be careful which one I get as some are pushing max tow capability. Many not though.

We even found one with a queen Murphy bed that was intriguing as it gave you more room when not sleeping.

I'll have to organize my thoughts during the week and see if we can come to some decision on exactly which trailer we like best.

Can relate to the burned out comment. Have been to 2 shows in the last few weeks. Educational though. Interesting comment regarding Jayco. I have been seriously considering the 29REKS. MSRP to my specs is $42500, RV Show price of $32500 though! Just need to due some homework on Jayco in general before I feel comfortable proceeding.

I had a jayco Baja pop up tent trailer. The quality was awesome and better than everything else we saw. We won't look at much else besides jayco.

Did you look at any hybrid trailers? What's nice about these is your get all the benefits of a pop-up or pop-out trailer, but still conformed within a hard-shell unit, and they're very light weight. Most have the kitchen, bath, and living area all in the hard shell then the bedroom bunks all fold out. Going down the road they're small (20-25ft) and usually around 5k lbs.

Looked at hybrids. When its hot or cold, you can't beat real walls.
