This is good news. Been looking for a used 2012-14 similarly equipped in my area and can't seem to find any. Been looking for 7 lug wheels on the trucks on the road and haven't seen any either.

Why not just go ask your dealerships around your area to get you one.

It would be helpful to used truck buyers if Ford put a HD payload badging on the HD payload trucks.

I have tried a few dealers but they end up turning around and try to sell me a 2015 of which I cant afford. I see many listed HD Ford F150 XLT but when I punch the VIN in they don't have the HD Payload package. I like the F150 but will probably end up getting a 250 as they are much more plentiful around me.

Yep, that is why it was so nice to simply search 7-lug F-150. No confusion there.

I think the whole thing of switching to 6 lug is just a marketing thing. This way they can sell a Platinum, Limited or FX-4 with the HD Payload Package. Plus they don't have to have a separate part and it makes the bean counters happy cause they are using 4 less lugs per truck.

They did in the early 2000's. It was a 7700 badge on the sides and tailgate. Does GM still put an option decal on the inside of the glove box? That was a great idea in the 70's. A future gotcha for the Ford's in the used market will be the size of the fuel tank. There will be plenty of buyers unhappy to discover the tank is only 23 gallons.

You can't get the larger tank with the HD Payload option?
Now that you mention I don't recall seeing it as an option on the Build/Price web page.
Yes, that's a problem.

Sorry for the confusion. I believe you can still get the "extended range" tank as an option on the HD payload but it is an option so some of them on the used market will have the 23 gal tank. Guess a buyer would have to know what the 23 gallon tank looks like.

Has anybody had seen another 2015 HD payload package truck besides the first sighting in Canada? Since many of our orders were cancelled, I wonder if any more or how many are actually being built. (excluding the 2.7 ecoboost payload option some confuse for the true heavy duty payload package on the 3.5 EcoBoost and 5.0).
