First sighting of 2015 HD Payload truck
At Hanna Ford in Ontario Canada. A local high volume, discount retailer:
http://www.hannafords.ca/used/Ford/2...54dc731373.htm
5L Screw XLT with 2472# Payload (see the last two pictures)
Rear GAWR is still 4800# so should have lots of room.
Has the 18" Alloy HD Wheels which according to the source book are only rated to 2102# each, which doesn't make sense with a rear GAWR of 4800#. So I think the source book must be wrong.
What's interesting is the build date: Feb 2015?
Thought these things weren't going to be built until July?
Discount off Canadian MSRP is about Can$8000, not bad for a new model.

Something about that seems fishy. The tires are 275/65R18 with a C weight rating (110/113). the spec'd PSI on the sticker is 48. Not to be weird, but my truck has the same class of tires and the MAX PSI on the sidewall is 44PSI. My sticker (2009 non HD) is 35PSI. I've looked a 2014 non-HD with the same tires and it shows 40psi recommended.
I usually keep things around 38, but it looks like Ford upped the normal pressure on the tires sometime in 2013 or 2014...maybe only on Max Tow packages. It's all a bit odd.
Edit: After looking at the tirerack site, it seems most 113/110S tires in that size have a minimum of 50PSI MAX pressure on the sidewall. I need to check mine (Michelin LTX AT2s) that are a couple of years old and confirm the max pressure.

this is sending all sorts of mixed messages. Like you, I was under the presumption that the HD payload pack trucks weren't being produced until July. Another thing that sets off an alarm or three is it's listed as a new truck in the "used" category on their site.

Maybe Ford ran this one off early on just to be sure there wouldn't be any problems later when full production started. Then went back to filling all the non-HD Payload pre-orders. Dunno. But do think it is what it says.

What's the deal with MaxTow?
Is it not available anymore or ...
It used to be required for the HD Payload option.
When I go to the Canadian build site, all there is is the regular Tow package.
And that's all this truck has.

I thought you have to get the Ego-Boost to get the max tow option??

It's not an option with the 5L. Switch to 3.5L EcoB and you get both options, regular and MaxTow. Choose HD Payload option and you are forced to also choose MaxTow.
Thanks.
