Default Firestone Destination LE tires

Greetings. I bought my first pickup truck last week. 2011 f150 supercrew short bed. I will be towing a 3000lb pop up on 2 or 3 times a year. But next year I'm taking the family cross country on a national parks vacation. I may put 5000 towing miles on this trip. But other than that, it's mostly hauling kids around. Not a commuting vehicle.

I need new tires. Firestone has a deal on Destination LE tires. Anybody have an opinion in these tires. Or other ones? I know nothing about tires and truck ride experience. Thank you.

The Destination LE is a lower end, budget friendly tire. They work, but they're nothing special. Don't have too high of expectations for them.

In my opinion, when you need tires, that's a perfect time to upgrade! Check out the BFG KO2, it's getting amazing feedback. And you can even upsize a little if you want a more aggressive look. Or get a 2" level done, and put big 35's on!

Here's a good review of them:

I bought two sets for my '01 Supercrew. I was satisfied with them enough to buy the second set. Don't remember how many miles, quiet running. Only towed an open motorcycle trailer, under 2k lbs. They came out with the Destination LE2 in 2012. If they are the Destination LE, be sure they are not selling you three year old tires. Check the DOT code on the tire. Four digit number. 0512 would be 5th week of 2012.

The dealership put those tires on my Suburban when I bought it (used). They have been ok, I guess. Decent in the snow and not noisy. They have about 40k on them now, and I they will need to be replaced at the end of the summer.

Don't remember the mileage but I went through 2 sets of them on my Explorer. I'd buy them again.
