Not sure what it's supposed to be at voltage wise but I'd think you can just put a voltmeter from the brake plug to the ground plug at the trailer plug connection.

I just posted in this forum: https://www.f150forum.com/f82/2015-i...308674/index7/

I have 5 TBC's replaced and the dealer tech thinks he found the issue finally. I will post more when I speak to the tech on Monday but hopefully it helps someone with a similar issue.

I have a different issue with the controller. Set at maximum boost and power 10 I can barely feel it pulling on the trailer.

I have an 8,000 lb Jayco 5th wheel and this has been a HUGE discussion over in the Jayco Owners Forum. Lots Jayco owners who pull with a 2015 or 2016 F150 don't think the controller is sending NEAR enough voltage to the brakes.

We can all do a breakaway test - ie pull the breakaway switch while the trailer is stopped, then try to move it. If the brakes lock, you're pretty sure the problem isn't in the Trailer.

My previous setup was a Ford Explorer with a Prodigy P3 and a Travel Trailer.
The Prodigy instructions say to turn up the voltage on the controller until the trailer brakes lock in a hard stop from 25mph. Then turn the voltage back down until they won't lock up.

There are no similar instructions for the Ford Integrated controller (that I can find) but I'll tell you that there is no way I can get my current rig to lock up even at full power.
I've got so little trailer breaking (even when the controller shows 10) that its scary.

Does anyone know what the 1-10 scale represents? I figure its just arbitrary and doesn't represent actual voltage as the display on the Prodigy P3 does.

I started a thread on this same subject. I actually hooked up my trailer and went to my Ford dealer. The tech spent 2 1/2 hours with me working on the TBC. I showed him with the gains set at 10 and going 25 mph and just moving the gain levels to full without any truck brake pedal the trailer would come to a slow stop. The tech hooked up a meter to see how much power was going to the trailer brakes and it showed full power output. We then hooked back up and got the truck and trailer going 35mph and slammed on the truck brakes. Everything worked as it should. It stopped as fast with the trailer on (5600 lbs empty and 8700 lbs full) as off. Last week I was fully loaded going on a trip and a car decided it needed to stop on the freeway in the middle lane. I had to go from 60 to 0 fast. The TBC actually locked up the trailer brakes and the truck and trailer stopped amazingly quick.

Do you test this with the controller slide or by actually pressing on the brake pedal? Take it for a drive and stomp on the brakes, I'll bet it stops.

I get the same result with the slide or the brake pedal.

Can you post a link to that thread - I don't see it.

If you hit your truck brakes hard with the trailer attached and it does not stop quickly try your trailer on a different truck(if you can) and see if that truck stops quickly. If it does then you do have a problem with the TBC. When I went to my dealer with my trailer we hooked up the trailer to the same truck that I have. It worked the same as my truck. If you can hook it to another truck and it won't stop the trailer any better then your trailer may be the problem.

Just returned from a trip in the GA mountains and the brake controller smoked and burned while driving and locked up the Airstream brakes. My other truck pulled this trailer all over. The trailer circuit was checked - no issues. Then I took the truck to the Ford dealer in Cleveland, GA. They hooked it up to a different trailer and got the same issue. They replaced the controller and I got home. Something is wrong with Ford's wiring. Any news on this issue? Many of the posts are a year old but no follow-up.

I have yet to hook up a trailer to my rig but you guys are making me nervous about my TBC. Might want to get it checked out next time I am in for service.
