Do you have an option that has the power fold option that will work with the options that I have?
These would be a direct replacement for the mirrors that you have. They do have the power fold feature.

They do not have a puddle light, the side marker is wired to act as the puddle light did.

It does come with the option to wire them into the running light or turn signal circuit.

Hi Tony,

Thanks for your response. Much appreciated.

I have a couple more questions:

1) Will these mirrors be plug and play as you described or is there modifications to make? (Apart from the marker/signal light)
2) As you described the addition of wiring "It does come with the option to wire them into the running light or turn signal circuit.", is there a signal light that will work with additional wiring? I have seen the ford trailer mirrors and they have both a signal and marker light on the side of the mirror.

Because you have the power fold feature from the factory, they would be plug and play on your application

Hi Tony,

Thank you for the info. I just want to clarify that the tow mirror you recommended will have a signal work on the tow mirror without the requirement for any additional wiring since my current mirror has a signal light. Please confirm.

In addition to that if I want to add the marker light the kit comes with additional wiring to do so.

This is the same question I have for trucks that already have power fold and don't need the upgrade harness.

Is there any good write ups yet for wiring the lower puddle light to be a parking /marker light? I have an 11 for with silver power fold, heated, dimming, regular mirrors now with puddle lamps and have been searching everywhere for a good writeup on converting the lower puddle on the 1a tow mirror to be a parking marker light. There are tons of threads but they are all super confusing and congested and/or are for the oem for tow mirror. I am looking for how to do this with the 1A tow mirror and hopefully easily.

The upper light I would want to stay being a turn signal.

I just bought a 2015 F-150 3.5L EcoBoost SuperCrew that has manual folding mirrors and looking to replace these mirrors with towing extension and power folding. I read through these posts and could not really tell if the wiring is already there to do power folding if the stock mirrors didn't power fold. Any advice from people who have done this replacement?

The light on the side of the mirror housing can be wired one of three ways, there's only one ciruit going to that light.

The light comes pre-wired to act like the puddle light did. The kit does come with two wire leads and two butt connectors so that you can make the side marker act like a clearance light or a turn signal, if you do not want it to act like the puddle light.

My reply to the comment above should help you out.

You could have the dealer run your VIN to see if they can tell you if the truck is pre-wired for the power fold feature. If it is, ask them what else needs to be added to the truck (other than mirrors) to enable this feature. Sometimes it's as easy as factory switch and relay in the fuse box to enable the feature.

We do have a kit that includes the mirrors and a nice pre-made harness, if it becomes too involved.

Hope this helps you guys out,

Tony

I purchased a 2016 f-150 XLT and got the standard mirrors. I didn't get the tow mirrors because I was afraid they would be too wide to fit through my garage door. Do you know the difference in dimensions of the tow mirrors and standard mirrors. I have about 4" to spare on both sides before I would hit.
